The Little Date and the Poor Man
One day in a small village, there lived a boy named Hamza. He loved to play, but he also loved to listen to stories about Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
One evening, Hamza’s mother gave him two fresh dates to eat. He was so happy! As he walked outside, he saw an old man sitting by the road, looking very tired and hungry.
The man said softly, “Assalamu Alaikum, little one.”
Hamza smiled and replied, “Wa Alaikum Assalam.”
Hamza looked at the two dates in his hand. He thought, “I really want to eat both… but the Prophet ﷺ taught us that helping others is better than keeping everything for ourselves.”
So, Hamza gave one date to the old man and said, “Please eat this, uncle.”
The old man’s face lit up with happiness. He raised his hands and made du’a for Hamza:
“May Allah bless you, my child, and give you more than what you gave.”
Hamza felt so happy inside. He realized that when you share—even something small like a date—Allah rewards you with something even greater.
✨ Lesson for Kids:
Even small acts of kindness, like sharing food, can make someone happy and bring us closer to Allah.
