Honesty Brings Barakah,

The Honest Little Merchant

A long time ago in a small village, there was a boy named Hamza. He loved helping his father in their little shop at the marketplace. His father always told him,
“Hamza, remember what our beloved Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Truthfulness leads to goodness, and goodness leads to Paradise.’ Always be honest, no matter what.”

One day, while Hamza was watching the shop, a man came to buy some dates. Hamza filled a bag, but by mistake, he put in a little less than what the man had paid for.

Hamza looked at the bag, and a thought came to him: “Maybe the man won’t notice. I could keep the extra dates.” But then he remembered his father’s words and the teaching of Islam.

So Hamza quickly added more dates and even a little extra, saying with a smile,
“Uncle, here are your dates. I made sure it is the right amount, and I added some more for barakah (blessing).”

The man was surprised and happy. He said, “Masha’Allah, you are such an honest boy! May Allah bless your business.”

When Hamza’s father returned, he was proud. He said, “Hamza, honesty may look small, but Allah loves those who are truthful. Remember, an honest person is loved by people and even more by Allah.”

From that day on, Hamza promised himself he would always be honest, even when no one was watching—because Allah is always watching.

✨ Moral of the Story:
In Islam, honesty is a part of faith. Being truthful brings barakah (blessing) in life and leads us closer to Jannah (Paradise).
