Virtues of Friday (Jumuʿah)

Chief of Days:
Friday is regarded as the best and most honored day of the week, known among Muslims as Jumuʿah al-Mubārak (Blessed Friday).

Hour of Acceptance:
Within this day, there is a special moment in which any supplication made by a believer is accepted by Allah.

Bath and Charity:
Taking a ritual bath (ghusl) on Friday is obligatory, and giving charity on this day carries multiplied reward compared to other days.

Going Early & Listening to the Sermon:
Whoever goes early to the mosque, on foot, and sits close to the imam attentively during the sermon, receives the reward of a full year’s worth of worship for every step taken.

Sending Blessings (Ṣalawāt) on the Prophet ﷺ:
On Friday, believers are especially encouraged to abundantly send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ, as he is the source of guidance and goodness for the ummah.

A Day of ʿEid:
Friday is considered a weekly festival for Muslims in this world, and in the Hereafter it will also be a day when Allah fulfills the needs of His believing servants.

Creation of Adam (ʿalayhi al-salām):
On Friday, Adam was created, admitted into Paradise, expelled from it, and the Day of Judgment will also occur on this day.
